My Weight Loss Story

1st Transformation

Growing up, I was the chubby kid who longed to get in shape. I struggled with weight loss and blamed my genetics—until I discovered the science of nutrition. Armed with new knowledge, I transformed my body and embraced a healthy lifestyle. I felt confident and believed that I had finally “made it.”

The Lockdown Weight Gain

Then, the Covid lockdown hit. Like many, I found myself stuck at home with dwindling motivation. Boredom led to overeating, and soon I was overwhelmed by frustration as I gained 20 kg. The irony stung: a dietitian whose job was to help others was losing his own battle. This became my powerful wake-up call. Fueled by frustration and a desire to reclaim my health, I embarked on a second weight loss journey.

Final Weight Loss Journey

Even with my expertise, I faced the familiar challenges of low motivation and intense cravings. It was a stark reminder that discipline, even for an expert, is paramount. I admit, I wasn’t perfect, allowing myself occasional treats in moderation. The journey back to fitness wasn’t easy, but it was well worth the effort.

My Learnings

It’s been 4 years since then and I have lost 20 kg of excess weight and kept it off because of the simple habits I built to keep my weight and health in good shape. This second experience taught me a powerful lesson that the path of weight loss journey can be much easier and less daunting if you have someone by your side to guide and support That’s what I realized, and that’s what I offer now. At Purely Simple Diet, I provide personalized coaching that adapts to your unique needs, with the guidance and support you need to overcome obstacles and achieve lasting fat loss success.

My Qualifications and Achievements

Post Graduation In Nutrition and Dietetics

I hold a post-graduate degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV), Indore University.

As part of my training, I completed a six-month internship at Choithram Hospital, Indore, gaining hands-on experience in clinical diet planning and patient care.

Complementing this, I also hold a Diploma in Nutrition and Health Education from IGNOU, which has equipped me with a well-rounded and in-depth understanding of various dimensions of nutrition and health education.

I also had the opportunity to serve as a guest lecturer at my alma mater, DAVV, where I taught sports nutrition.

In addition to my academic and teaching experience, I contributed as a chapter author in the international academic textbook Examining Physiology, Nutrition, and Body Composition in Sports Science, published by the internationally recognized IGI Global Scientific Publishing. My chapter, titled “Eating Plans to Cut Body Fat, Gain Muscle, and Prepare for Competition,” explores evidence-based dietary strategies for athletic performance and body composition enhancement.

To further enhance my expertise, I have also completed several certification courses from reputed institutes such as K11 Fitness Academy and the Institute of Nutrition and Fitness Sciences (INFS).

Further extending my involvement in the field, I have also actively contributed to knowledge sharing and community engagement. I presented a paper on “Obesity and Exercise; Challenges and Solution” at the 22nd National Conference on Science, Skill Development and Societal Growth, held at Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV). Locally in Indore, I have conducted numerous fitness and nutrition seminars at various gyms, sharing my expertise with the community. Notably, in 2022, I had the privilege of participating as a nutrition educator for Special Olympics Bharat athletes, a national sports federation for individuals with intellectual disabilities. This significant initiative, held in celebration of India’s 75th year of independence (Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav), involved conducting over 100,000 health screenings across the country, demonstrating my commitment to promoting health and well-being for diverse populations.

Beyond my nutrition expertise, I also bring a wealth of practical fitness experience to my coaching. I have worked as a senior personal trainer in both Pune and Indore, gaining valuable hands-on experience in guiding individuals towards their fitness goals. My commitment to fitness extends beyond training others; I am a certified kettlebell expert and have proudly won a Gold medal in the National Kettlebell Sports competition held at Body Power Expo in Mumbai. Furthermore, I have achieved a Bronze medal in powerlifting events at IIM Indore and at the state level. To complement my training skills, I also hold certifications in aerobics and Pilates, allowing me to offer a diverse and comprehensive approach to health and well-being.
